What infection could this be?

My throat hurts reeeeeally bad! Its hard to swallow or eat cuz it hurts so bad, when its feeling its best it feels like a ball in the middle of my throat. When i stick out my tongue the back of it that goes in your throat, is all swollen and blocks my air way. My mom thinks its bronchitis but i really dont know. I've had it about a week now too.
