Why do people act like a woman should be ashamed of herself if she doesn't cook?

Why do people act like a man should be ashamed of himself if he shows some emotion? Why do people act like a man should be ashamed of himself if he can't find a job? Everyone expects something from other people. Besides cooking is one of the most basic, useful tool everyone should learn despite their gender. Noones going to be around cooking for each other forever and I certainly do not ever expect to be cooking for my partner who I marry just as she doesn't expect to feed me constantly (unless she's a stay at home mother but that's a different debate all together). Besides I love cooking my own chicken , with mashed potatoes.
