A violin for my professional friend? what kind?

I have a violinist friend who has played since she was eight. She play very well and is in a symphony. Her conductor keeps telling her the violin she has just isnt cutting it. She cant afford to get a new one so I want to suprise her by getting her one myself. I dont know much about violins so, What kind should I get her? I know she plays a full size two peice back but thats about it. Oh and she plays alot of something she calls sticatto?
