Will Verizon charge me for sending and receiving SMS messages if I have a texting plan?

I have unlimited texting, and I have some friends who send IMs to my phone from their computers and ipod touches (I'm not using mobile IM). I am worried that if I text with these friends too much, I might get overcharged for it. Is this something I should be worried about? Please help! thanks.
