During a female's lifetime, when does discharge stop, if ever?

We all know many girls get discharge a year or 2 before they get their periods. And we all know this discharge continues for quite some time. But I'm wondering if there's ever an end to this annoyance. Do we wait until menopause? Or is it just for the rest of our lives?
