Why has music evolutionized negatively?

Not all music is bad nowadays. I have to admit, I'm with you on rap but screamo and heavy metal isn't all that bad. Some of the more popular genres are though (i.e. rap). But some bands- like Muse- incorporate some of that clical style into their music. A lot of the more popular music is terrible, though, in my opinion.
