Sore throat swollen gland?

Ok so I was just looking for some advice. The gland in the back of my throat on the rifght side has swollen signifcantly It feels like a golf ball is in my throat but from lookin at in the mirror I would say its swollen alittle larger than a ping pong ball. It almost looks like the right side of my throat is going to close. After running the hand along both sides of my neck I know it is deefently swolen the ride side of my neck is hard. It hurts to swallow even my own silivia. And I can't take a dep breathe because it hurts and I feel like I'm chokeing. I can't get in to my doctors until sometime next week. Is there somethin I can take in the mean time? Or do to help it?
